Guess which Premier called out the Premier of Alberta for spreading misinformation?
There’s going to be a lot of misinformation leading up to the October referendum.
It will come from outside our borders, it will come from Alberta separatists, and unfortunately, it will come from Danielle Smith and the UCP government.
Democracies around the world are backsliding because governments say things that erode the public trust in democratic institutions.
A perfect example is in Alberta.
When a judge quashed the separatist petition, Danielle Smith called the decision undemocratic, and another member of the UCP said this was an activist judge.
The best way to fight against democratic backsliding is to call out the misinformation when you hear it, just like the Premier of Manitoba, Wab Kinew, did here.
